Code for the future

Regulations

1) Participants:

The application for the hackathon is free for all natural persons who:

• Are a female
• Are a resident in Ethiopia
• Have a basic coding skill

2) Definition:

The main objective of “Code for the future” project, hackathon and follow up support is to work with young girls to prepare them for the real world of tech. The girls in the project  receive training from senior women developers to learn app development and product packaging, skills which are required by the industry. This results in them being highly employable and inspired to start their own tech startups.

3) Registration:

The applicants must submit their applications until October 23rd, 2018 with the google form

Date of the hackathons:

• 1st hackathon for 30 participants on OCTOBER 27 – 28, 2018
• 2nd hackathon for 30 participants on NOVEMBER 2 – 3, 2018

You are only required to participate in one of the hackathons. Please select one of the dates when you register for the hackathons.

4) Special Requisitions:

The hackathon presentations and submissions will be conducted in the Amharic & English language .Your attendance is required to all warm up sessions, presentations and submissions.

5) Awards:

60 female will be selected to participate in the “Code for the future” hackathon and clinical sessions.  There will be Twelve projects will be selected for public pitching. The winners team will be awarded :-

• Entrepreneurship support
• Acceleration and funding opportunities
• Recognition by various platforms including media, iceaddis, and UNESCO
