Our story

Where do you go to innovate, to test, to build?

Our story started in 2011 with this simple question. While the question seems simple; the answer was not. Back then, internet penetration in Ethiopia was below 1% and there was no nurturing platform for the youth to grow or launch their new venture. Iceaddis was established to bring innovators together and start a community of dreamers; a place for the mind to be curious, to be wrong; to imagine; and forge a solution.

We realized early on that the world would die without innovators. Most believe iceaddis; as the first startup incubator and innovation hub; set the foundation for what is now becoming a vibrant startup ecosystem in Ethiopia. 

Our work is amplifying startups. We work on youth-driven private sector initiatives and facilitate constructive interaction between techies, entrepreneurs, investors and people from the creative industries. We understand it requires the whole ecosystem to work for startups to ideate and grow their businesses.
